It’s 6am on a random Friday morning in February. I roll out of bed, groggy but glad it is Friday! As I do every morning, I grab my phone and my reading glasses and stumble into the bathroom, shielding my eyes from the blaring light that my sweet husband so thoughtfully turned on for me. It’s time to take care of business and catch up on whatever excitement happened on Facebook while I slept. To say that I’m not a morning person is an understatement (although I’m not a night owl, either, so I’m not sure what that means…).

It takes me a few minutes to gradually peel my hand away from my eyes and attempt to focus on my phone. Interestingly, before I can even pull up the Facebook app, I notice a text message – those are usually high priority! It actually came in at 10:30 the night before, but my “sleep mode” is set for 10pm, so I didn’t hear it.

Now, before I tell you about the text message, I have to remind you that over the past year and a half, I’ve been doing some (no, A LOT OF) spiritual soul searching. In fact, that is the subject of my first book (in progress), as well as my recent conversation with Debra Moffitt on Unity Online radio. What I have happily discovered is that when you tap into your Divine Purpose and begin to live your Truth, you are led on an exciting, awe-inspiring journey! And, if you pay close attention, you realize that the Universe provides clever signs and messages to keep you moving forward – to show you the way and light your path! Nothing surprises me anymore (amused and entertained, yes, but not surprised)…and I LOVE it!

Ok, back to our story…I open the text message and see the following picture, along with the words “Look, it’s you!”

As I study the picture, a huge grin spreads across my face, as I realize that, YES, this IS me! This is exactly what I have been doing over the past year! Standing on the moon, reaching for the stars! But, wait…who would know that? I take a closer look at my phone, but there is no contact information…

“Hey Bill!” I shout into the bedroom, “I just got a text message from God!”

“A what?” he asked.

“A text message from God!” I insist. “Come check this out!”  We both look at the picture, excitedly discussing the possibilities.

“I suppose I should write back,” I say. “Wouldn’t you just SHIT if the reply was, ‘God’?” We start cracking up at the idea of God writing back to confirm His identity!

Alas, it was not to be. Although it wasn’t God Himself, it was – in my view – one of his ambassadors! After texting back and forth throughout the morning, I found out that the picture was sent from a woman on the west coast named Susan. Susan and I have a mutual friend here in Charleston, by the name of Chrys. Susan was texting this picture to Chrys, but it was mysteriously routed to me instead. Funny, considering a) I have never met Susan; therefore, b) my number would not have been in her phone, and c) my phone number is not at all similar to Chrys’s.

All I can say is, God has numerous emissaries, and He attempts to communicate with us in a variety of creative ways! That beautiful text message, sent by a “stranger,” brightened my day (my week!) and reminded me that I was not forgotten and never alone. I’ve been keeping a journal of these “coincidences,” or God-instances, as my Texas pastor used to call them. It is amazing…the more I look for and record these moments, the more I find. It’s almost as if the angels reward me for finding their breadcrumbs and then start tossing me whole slices of bread!

As you go through your week, take note of YOUR God-instances (write them down!) and then thank the Universe for sending them. In no time, you will have a journal full of your own manna from heaven!
